🎉 We’re thrilled to celebrate our lab member, Perisa Ashar, for being awarded the 2025 ACM, Association for Computing Machinery SIGHPC Computational & Data Science Fellowship! 🎉
Perisa, a Masters student in Biomedical Engineering at Duke University (Duke BME) who has been doing research in the Duke BIG IDEAs Lab since her freshman year at Duke, is one of only six students selected for this prestigious fellowship — a program that recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students from underrepresented backgrounds in computational and data science.
This fellowship, awarded by ACM SIGHPC, provides $20,000 per year and honors students who are pushing the boundaries of computation-driven research.
We’re incredibly proud of Perisa’s achievements and the impact of her research. Her curiosity, dedication, and collaborative spirit enrich our lab every day.
